The Basel Traineeship Program is a paid internship with rolling admissions. Placement is in a variety of laboratory settings for 3-12 months. The intern’s research may focus on therapeutic areas, new technologies, molecular pathway investigation, discovery chemistry or models of disease.

The Summer Undergraduate Internship Program in Cambridge (June-August) is a paid, 40-hour per week
program for students enrolled at an accredited university. Interns work on their own project under the guidance of a NIBR researcher. Placement may be in a variety of laboratory settings focusing on specific disease areas, pathway discovery, or new technologies.
In addition to performing research, Cambridge interns participate in educational programs to enrich their experience. Interns attend and present at weekly journal club meetings, while a Drug Discovery Seminar Series provides exposure to different aspects of pharmaceutical research. At the end of the summer, the interns formally present the results of their summer research at a campus-wide poster session.

The Summer Undergraduate Internship Program in Emeryville is a paid, 40-hour per week, 10-12 week program (June-August) for students enrolled at an accredited university. Interns work on a project under the
guidance of a NIBR Project Mentor in a variety of laboratory settings in our Emeryville Oncology and Chemistry departments.
During the summer, interns will meet bi-weekly to share experiences, network and hear from seasoned professionals within the Novartis organization. To foster the exchange of ideas, interns will attend and present at a weekly journal club and at the end of the summer will present the progress and results of their own project.

Students will be responsible for their own housing and transportation during the internship. All students selected for a summer internship will be contacted by March 25.

The RD and GDC Horsham Sector Industrial Trainee Programmes are organized in conjunction with universities in the United Kingdom and Europe. Chemistry and Biology students are selected, following application, from universities to perform research for one year within Global Discovery Chemistry and the Respiratory Disease Area at the Horsham site.
